About

Kasey is a poet, lyricist, playwright, and educator whose creative work spans genres and generations. Raised in rural Oklahoma in a rodeo family, she later spent sixteen years in Los Angeles, working in production and post-production for companies such as MTV, TVG, and VH1. Her background in broadcast television and narrative craft shapes her artistic voice across stage, screen, and song.

She wrote the book, story, and lyrics for Angel of Broadway, a musical that premiered at the National Concert Hall in Dublin. Her children’s musical, Asa, A Christmas Story, toured Ireland to sold-out audiences and is currently being adapted into a children’s book.

Kasey’s lyrics have appeared in multiple films, including Jenny’s Wedding (starring Katherine Heigl)—for which she was nominated for a World Soundtrack Award—as well as the IMAX documentary Ireland and Queen of Carthage. She has written for the New York Tenors and Celtic Woman, and most recently contributed to a jazz album featuring Grammy, Tony, and Oscar-winning artists. Her song “She Must Go,” performed by jazz phenom Veronica Swift, is the title track of the album.

She holds a Master of Education and a B.A. in Broadcast Television, and currently teaches science in Purcell, Oklahoma. Her debut poetry collection, From the Cat’s Mouth: An Oklahoma Curio, explores themes of memory, girlhood, and the natural world with fierce tenderness.
